What the hell just happened

Suddenly I’m down

Realization sets in

I’m static on the ground.

Agony in movement

I inhale into the deep

Serenity in stillness

A limb lays distorted, motionless

A soloist surrenders

Warm sun is soothing,

Tussock sways in the breeze,

Birdsong lost in big skies,

Timeless on the mountain.

I introspect,

I reflect.

Whisked off in a mechanical bird,

I breathe deeply once again.

Dropped in supportive arms

I accept

I allow.

A surgery to mend,

Incisions and insertions made.

A metal Rod I carry now.

Alchemy to heal.

I dissolve into a drowsy state,

I contemplate

A new endurance challenge awaits.

Support from near and far,

Tears well in my eyes,

Gratitude fills my heart.

Overwhelmed and humbled,

I surrender to what is.

An opportunity arisen,

The reason I am here.

In Presence, I grow stronger

In calmness, I remember.

I listen with intent,

This is how it was meant.
